In fact, you can play without purchasing a ticket to the movie! There are 2 snack bars at the Galaxy, which offer traditional snack bar food like burgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, etc. However, we went to watch Unbreakable, which was a terrific movie but not at all appropriate for my 7-year-old! We were able to set he and his sister up with a bunch of blankets and pillows, and a big bag of popcorn in the back of our suburban with a movie they wanted to watch on their portable DVD player! Usually, the movies we go see are family friendly. Isn’t that what the back row is for? (It’s a joke, I was young once, I know what the back row at the Drive In is for…) No RV’s or trailers are allowed, which is a bummer because we often have our boat on the back while traveling up and down I-45, and have often thought about stopping. My husband purchased one of the big wireless speakers from Sams (I think), and we take it with us to the drive in so we can hear while sitting outside of our car! Yep, the Galaxy is the ONLY Drive In I know that still has old fashioned metal speaker boxes to attach to your car window! Of course, you can also use your car stereo, but I love that one day my kids will see a picture of this in a history book, and know what it is! They are, in my opinion, the epitome of Family Friendly entertainment! They have also been, for almost 15 years, about the only way I can see a movie! I don’t know why, but Cinemark and AMC won’t allow you to strap your baby in their car seat during the movie! ![]()
